For New Blogger and Newbie who even do not know about creating and developing websites, WordPress is the best and powerful tool for them which they can choose for their new blogs. Even many of the developers now days use WordPress for their new blog and for most of the projects because of its easy and user-friendly interface through which they easily control contents and other stuff on a blog.

Key Features

WordPress has built-in themes that allow using custom made themes for your blog or whatever the themes you like.

One of the most attractive things in WordPress is its plugins. Beautiful and useful plugins make your blog more attractive and user-friendly.

WordPress allows you to have as many editors and authors for your WordPress Blog as many you need.

Free of Cost:

You do not need to pay for the installation and use of WordPress at all.

How to Install WordPress Blog via cPanel?

Now it is the time to install WordPress on the domain. For this purpose, you must have a cPanel or hosting account detail what you may have been provided through your host. For Best Web Hosting, I have always recommended Bluehost. For installation of WordPress follow the instruction below step by step.

Note: WordPress needs a database to be connected for the storage of your data and site. No need to be worried, you can create a database in cPanel.

In this post, you will also learn how to create a database using cPanel.

Step 1: Download WordPress:

First of all, go to and download the latest version of WordPress. After Downloading, upload it to the folder in cPanel called ‘File Manager’. That opens the “public_html” folder in File Manager in cPanel. See the picture below.

Step 2: Upload Downloaded Folder:

To upload your WordPress folder click on File Manager, then click on upload as seen below.

The next screen will appear on which click on browse, locate the WordPress zipped folder from your hard disk and click the folder will begin uploading. You will see at right bottom of your screen that your WordPress folder is being uploaded to your Web Disk Folder. :)

Step 3: Extracting Zipped Folder:

When it finishes upload click back to the home page which will be in the same window. Now you will see that your WordPress folder has been uploaded in your “public_html” directory. Select on it and click on extract. A prompt window will appear which would ask for extracting, click extract.

Step 4: Moving the Folder to Main Page:

Now when you have extracted the folder, it will appear like the picture below.

By default when you extract the folder, it creates the same folder in your directory and you have to see files in the folder. Now your WordPress files are in the folder “WordPress”. Open the WordPress folder and select all files and move them to main directory of your site.

Step 5: Create a MySQL Database:

After downloading, uploading and moving WordPress files into the “public_html” folder, now the time is to create a database for connecting WordPress blog.  Go to cPanel main home page and click “MySQL® Database Wizard” under Databases options.

Important Note: Your WordPress blog is your business. The more secure you make it, the safer you are. The database is the main source of data of your blog where each and everything is stored like your login detail, and other data such as data detail. If it is less secured and hackers find the way to get into it, you will lose everything. So try to name it hard, its user name and password much harder even you can’t remember and read. I mean you must make it so much secured by using Upper Case Alphabets and numbers.

Also Note:

Keep all this information saved in a Notepad file as it is needed when we will connect it to our “WordPress Blog”.

Step 6: Give a Name to Database, Create User Name & Password:

As you see in the picture above, we give a name that is not easy to read even. Normally people name it simple and hackers commonly try to guess and then hack your site. So if you make your door harder, no one can access to your room. After giving a name, create its user and password and hit “Create User”.
Note: Please so save your database name and everything you see in the next. You will need this information while completing your installation in the future. Now see below.

As you see above, everything is strong including password. Username is also unique and is not easy to read. I mean it’s not a common word. Next step is to check “All Privileges” and your Database is created.

Step 6: Connect Database with WordPress Blog:

Open your site folder where you uploaded WordPress folder for example As we have uploaded folder in our main site folder “public_html”. After opening the correct URL, same will be asked to configure wp-config.php file to connect Database as below.

Click on “Let’s go!” and the next window will ask for the information about the database which we have created before. Put all information like Database Name, user name, password, database host, and table prefix in the form.

  • Replace “Cpanel_username” with your own cPanel username.
  • Database Name will be your created Database Name.
  • Database Username will be your created user name.
  • Database Password will be same what you set while creating the database (without cPanel username).
  • Database Host will be “localhost”.
  • By default Table Prefix is “wp_”, hackers can access to tables of your database. So do not use it, always use a different Table Prefix as you see in the picture above. To read more about Database Table read Wikipedia article about Table (database).

Now click on “Submit”. If you have written everything correctly, it will connect your site database and will show you the screen as below.

Click on “Run the install” and submit your site detail as below.

Step 7: Give Your Blog Detail:

Give your blog a title, a username to access admin area to write posts, a strong password and your email. Do not forget to check “Privacy Option” which says “Allow search engines to index this site.”. It is important for you to be indexed in Search engines in order to get traffic.

After completing all the above steps, a “Success” message will appear as below.

“Click on login” and a window will appear which will ask for login details as below. Type Username and Password and open WordPress Admin Area :)
